South West United — Live Fixture Calendars

The South West United Hockey Club is currently beta testing live fixture calendars that you can subscribe to.

These calendars update automatically twice a day to help you stay up to date with your team’s schedule. You can be informed of these changes (recommended for managers and coaches), ask to be added to the distribution list viaMike Kwan through the general WhatsApp group.

We recommend using them alongside your usual systems while we continue to improve their reliability and coverage.

There are both individual team calendars and combination calendars (covering multiple teams). If you’d like a custom calendar for a specific group of three or more teams, please contact Mike Kwan through the general WhatsApp group.

⚠️ Warning symbols on fixtures

To help catch calendars that have stopped updating, fixtures and training sessions more than two weeks away (1 day for State/National comps) display a ⚠️ symbol in the event title, along with a short note in the event details.

If you're subscribed, you don't need to do anything — the symbol disappears automatically as each game gets closer. It will only ever appear on events well in the future.

If you can see ⚠️ on games happening in the next two weeks, your calendar is a downloaded copy rather than a live subscription. It's frozen at whatever the fixtures were when you added it, and it won't receive changes to times, venues, or cancellations. To fix it, delete the old SWU calendar from your app and re-subscribe using the instructions below — making sure to use the subscribe/URL method, not download or import.

Our calendars pull their information from outside sources. That means South West United Hockey Club doesn’t control the details that appear. We do our best to keep everything accurate and up to date, but sometimes things may be wrong or unexpected.

📅 Calendar Setup

🟦 Google Calendar

  1. Open Google Calendar in a browser (same Google account as your phone).
  2. On the left, click + next to Other calendars → From URL.
  3. From the tables below, right-click the Google link for your team and choose Copy link address.
  4. Paste that copied .ics link into the URL field.
  5. Click Add calendar.
  6. (Optional) Click the new calendar’s ⋮ to rename it and choose a colour.

After subscribing on a computer, it will appear automatically in the Google Calendar app on Android and iPhone within a few minutes.

If you don’t see it: in the app, go to ☰ Menu → Settings → (your new calendar) and make sure Sync is on.

🍎 Apple (iPhone / iPad / Mac)

  1. Click the Apple link for your team on iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
  2. When prompted, choose Subscribe.
  3. (Optional) Rename the calendar and pick a colour.

Your Apple device will now keep the calendar updated automatically.
